NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- More than 150 evangelical pastors, seminary and college professors, ministry leaders and others have signed a declaration known as the “Nashville Statement,” which affirms God’s design and intent regarding sexuality, marriage and gender identity.
The Nashville Statement, which is an initiative of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood and the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, was released on Tuesday and features 14 short proclamations, or articles, arranged in constitutional form. The statement, while pertaining to homosexuality and transgenderism, also speaks universally in regard to God’s desire that all mankind remain sexually pure until marriage and notes that the Creator distinctively designed the woman to complement the man and bear the couple’s children. It additionally addresses the requirement for faithfulness within the marital covenant, which is to mirror Christ and His bride, the Church.

Source: Milo Faculty at the University of Toronto are up in arms following a professor’s refusal to use ‘genderless pronouns.’ According to them Jordan Peterson, the professor in question, could spark a rise in ‘hate speech’ on campus. That’s a bit confusing, especially since mandatory ‘genderless pronoun’ use is relatively new in Canada; it wasn’t a thing until the country’s government began moving to pass Bill C-16, also known as the ‘Transgender Rights Bill.’ The bill broadens the definition of hate speech to include not recognizing someone’s preferred gender pronoun.

By: Meagan Damore In their annual “Studio Responsibility Index” report, GLAAD takes major film studios to task for their representation (or lack thereof) of LGBT people in film. The organization recently released their 2016 report, which gives Disney a failing grade; over the 11 films the studio released in 2015, none of them included appearances by LGBT people. This year, GLAAD cited the “Star Wars” universe specifically as an area where the studio could change this. Source: WLOS News 13
BY HOPE HANSELMAN WLOS — ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The transgender community is urging Asheville businesses to ensure the safety of people using their bathrooms after discussion over House Bill 2 has heated up. Dozens of people plan to get downtown businesses involved Thursday. A group from Asheville's Tranzmission will be canvassing businesses, beginning downtown and continuing through West and South Asheville, and asking whether their bathrooms would be safe for transgender people to use. This week, a list of nearly 350 North Carolina businesses came out in support of HB2. Only a few dozen of them were willing to share their names publicly. There are not many times that we declare something a red alert at CYI Worldwide / News watch. But looking at the rising tide of anti-Christian violence and rhetoric, this article seemed timely. It's time to sound the alarm, get right with God and make a concerted effort to spread the gospel. The return of Jesus is at the door.

Author: Michael F. Haverluck Bales Memorial Wesleyan Church in Jamestown, N.C., was the first Christian house of worship to be targeted last weekend by militant LGBT advocates, who destroyed the church’s sign, broke windows and pulled parking signs out of the ground. Not stopping there, the homosexual activists tore up flowers in the parking lot and vandalized the church bus by scratching up its hood and jamming a sign through its front grill, according to the Christian News Network. On Saturday, members of the Wesleyan church also found their church building covered with broken eggs, silly string, and pro-homosexual jargon fused with hate speech. Some of the spray-painted vandalism written on the outside walls of the Jamestown church included, “Gay’s OK,” “He hates you!” and “God loves [expletive]!” The next day, “gay” activists struck another church less than 20 miles away in Greensboro with similar rage and destruction. Grace Baptist Church officials were dismayed to find their worship center vandalized Sunday morning with the signature window smashing and egg pelting over its facility. This time, however, silly string was replaced with toilet paper, which covered the church property.
